Shock Treatment - Versatile Rapid Release Chlorine Tablets

January 2003
Palintest has developed a range of rapid dissolving chlorine release tablets for professional applications in water treatment and disinfection. The range of Instachlor PR tablets comprises four different tablet sizes to suit a wide variety of uses. They provide a simple and effective means of preparing chlorine solutions of known strength for chlorination, disinfection, or sterlisation.
Instachlor PR tablets are prepared from an effervescent formulation containing sodium dichloroisocyanurate, an organic chlorine donor. The tablets dissolve rapidly when added to water and release chlorine into solution. They are suitable for small and medium scale applications in water chlorination, from disinfecting water tanks and bowsers used in trains, ships and aircraft, to treating water containers used by campers. They can be used for the disinfection and cleaning of industrial equipment and work surfaces, and for waterworks apparatus, distribution pipes and services reservoirs.
Palintest Instachlor rapid-release chlorine tablets are also approved by the UK Drinking Water Inspectorate for emergency use as disinfectants for waterworks apparatus, distribution pipes and service reservoirs.
Alternatively, you may be interested in Steadichlor tablets which offer a simple and effective means of water chlorination without the need for complex dosing equipment. Steadichlor tablets dissolve in water to give a slow, steady chlorine release. The dissolving time is approximately 4 hours in flowing water or 12 - 24 hours in static water. Steadichlor tablets are particularly suitable for flowing water applications. The tablets can be used in a simple tablet holder or placed in a mesh bag suspended in the water flow.
