New Extended Range DPD Test For Simple Testing Of Superchlorinated Pools

Palintest Ltd. has launched two new products – the DPD XF and XT tablets – for testing concentrations of free and total chlorine concentrations of 0-10mg/l. These new tablets are available alongside the standard 0-5mg/l test tablets, for use with the Palintest Pooltest 9 and 25 photometers.

For pools and spas which require superchlorinating, the ability to test these levels accurately and simply is essential. The introduction of this extended range test will greatly ease the process by removing the need for dilution and the problems associated with the bleaching of the DPD solution’s colour. This new DPD formulation is based on the proven Palintest technology, and works just as effectively. Palintest’s Pooltest photometers offer the choice of both standard and extended range DPD testing, with results displayed in either mg/l or ppm.

The new Pooltest 9 Professional Plus and Pooltest 25 Professional Plus photometers have already been programmed with the new test included, and older Pooltest 9 and 25 Pro units are easily upgradeable to support the extended range test function.

This latest generation of the best selling range of photometers has also added a water balance index routine. From the test results the photometer will calculate the water balance to ensure that all the parameters are being kept in optimum ranges. This then helps to avoid corrosion and scale formation, reducing running costs and extending plant life.
